Introduction: Interdisciplinary Practice, Combining Art and English
Hello, everyone! I am delighted to have this opportunity to share my experience with you in this A4-sized space. My journey of interdisciplinary practice, fusing art and English, has been a journey of exploration, creativity, and personal growth.
I come from a background where art and language have always been a part of my daily life. As a child, I was always drawing, painting, and creating stories through my art. Simultaneously, I was also passionate about languages, especially English, which I saw as a gateway to understanding and communicating with the world.
My interest in combining art and English led me to explore various interdisciplinary projects. In high school, I participated in an art-based English project where we had to create a piece of art that represented a concept or idea in English. This project challenged me to think creatively about how to express myself through art and language.
After high school, I decided to pursue this interest further by enrolling in a dual-degree program where I studied art and English. This program gave me the opportunity to explore both fields in depth and see how they could be combined.
One of the most significant projects I worked on during this program was a multimedia installation that combined art, English, and technology. We had to create a piece that used art to explore a theme or idea in English and presented it in a creative way using technology. This project allowed me to explore my creativity and technical skills, while also deepening my understanding of English and its application in art.
This interdisciplinary practice has not only enriched my academic experience but has also had a profound impact on my personal growth. It has taught me to think creatively and critically, to communicate effectively, and to collaborate with others.
